The Positive Impact of Your Sponsorship

Black Rhino Mentoring Program

The Black Rhinos Mentoring Program was established in 2009 to address the daily academic, social, and community challenges young black men face. Each participant is groomed in leadership development, entrepreneurial skills and community service involvement. The program also hosts an annual bus trip to visit historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other educational institutions in the southeast. The Black Rhinos Program has served nearly 1,000 young men over the past 13 years and currently serves over 80 young men throughout Metro Atlanta in grades 6 through 12.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM

One of the Four Cardinal Principles of Omega Psi Phi is Scholarship. The Delta Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. strives to live up to this cardinal principle. Since 2017 Delta Mu Mu has given $240,000 in scholarship funds to assist our youth in their endeavors to achieve a higher education. This year, we gave our largest donation in the amount of $80,000. Without your support, this would not be possible.

Aboubacar Barrie, Scholarship Recipient

Is a third year Business and Engineering student at Georgia Tech and a two-time honoree of the Delta Mu Mu Scholarship. As a first generation college student whose family’s income is not enough to support the full costs of attendance. Aboubacar was fortunate enough to receive these scholarships to support his education and eliminate the need of going into debt. After having secured roughly 90% funding from other scholarships, he still needed $3,000. Aboubacar found out about a $3,500 scholarship opportunity from the Delta Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and I applied. He was later informed that he would be granted the scholarship. This occurrence happen twice once as a freshman and and again as a junior. Aboubacar is extremely grateful and has expressed how much he wants to eventually give back to another student struggling to pay their way through college.
